Rest in Peace King

In Loving Memory of King 🌈

King was one of the six dogs we met at Freedom Farm — dogs whose suffering first caught our attention thanks to a project we were involved in nearby. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much these animals had endured.

While all six dogs began treatment for severe mange and slowly started to heal, King’s journey was harder. Despite ongoing care, close monitoring, and repeated follow-ups, King struggled to gain strength. When a growth we were watching worsened, the reality became clear: King’s cancer had progressed beyond what treatment could fix.

What we could give him, however, was kindness.

Surrounded by people who cared, King was humanely and gently put to rest. Because of continued care and your support, his final weeks were filled not with suffering, but with comfort, relief, and love.

King’s story is a reminder of why ARO’s work matters — not just in saving lives, but in walking alongside animals and their families for as long as they need us, and ensuring dignity when healing is no longer possible.

Rest easy, sweet King. You will always be part of our journey. 🐾💙
